England Rivalry can motivate Wales, said Gary Speed
Former Wales captain Gary Speed says England drawing gives a promising team in the country Wales a better chance to qualify for 2012 European Championship.
Speed, Wales' most capped player in the outfield, also challenged the team to beat sides, they should not.
"Of course Wales have a chance to beat England "Speed told BBC Sport." If it were Spain, France, Germany or Italy, I would not be so sure.
"But because it is England, and this will be a derby, anything can happen. "
England and Wales have been gathered in group G for the qualifying campaign for Euro 2012 with one team able to book their passage to Poland and Ukraine automatically.
Montenegro, Bulgaria and Switzerland from the group as a goal for Wales to qualify for a major tournament for the first time since the 1958 World Cup.
Wales last against England in two qualifying matches for the 2006 World Cup where the team Sven-Göran Eriksson has missed winning twice.
But with a team from Wales Boasting a culture of young stars including Arsenal Aaron Ramsey, Gareth Bale Tottenham and West Ham's Jack Collison, Speed said, now is the time for the team to show their class at the international level.
"A lot of young players in Wales has played against the England under 21 game and did very well and were unlucky not to gain, increased speed, referring to close the play-off England win in 2008 that booked their passage to the Championship last summer Europe.
"There is a great group of players there and [Wales boss] John Toshack has managed to play a football Nice. But teams they only beat the teams they were expected to beat. They need to change that trend in this campaign to stand any chance of qualification.

Speed 40 years, won 85 caps for Wales in his brilliant career and is currently head coach at Sheffield United, where he was able to monitor striker Wales Ched Evans closely.
And he said the former Manchester City striker has enjoyed playing more regularly Blades for – something he believes is crucial to the success of the Welsh team.
"With young players we have coming through we have a chance. If they could stick together, they could be there for the next 10 to 12 years, which is remarkable really, "said Speed.
"What Wales needs is for them to continue to play in first team squads in particular at the highest level. With the likes of Ramsey, Collison and Bale in the Premier League if they can stick in the first team, then the future is very bright and Wales can build on these successes.
Although speed has been touted as a successor to Toshack said there would be no advantage to change the manager of the company.
But the former Leeds, Everton, Newcastle and Bolton midfielder says he has high hopes to manage his country one day.
"It's like being a player," he said. "Any player wants to play for their country and any any coach or manager would want to manage their country and I am no different.
"But I'm in no hurry and for me as coach but very early days. "
